I bought the book a couple months ago and wasn't able to finish it. It was nothing like the movie. I think Walter Hill and Larry Gordon should be given the biggest credit for the concept of the movie. Sol Yurick seems to be a grouch in his interview as well. He didn't even like the movie. If the movie would have been made like he would have wanted it then it wouldn't have been any good in my opinion. On the other hand, Walter Hill and Larry Gordon are geniuses.

I feel exactly the same the book let me down. I was expecting so much but the directors of the film did an excellant job of making the movie.
