18" Baseball Fury
Re: 18" Baseball Fury
I knew these didn't sell out. They didn't look good at all and were too pricy. I don't think anyone really bout the costumes either, so I dont think we will be getting anymore items from BEINCOGNEATO but I could be mistaken. It's a shame they could have done cool things with these.

Re: 18" Baseball Fury
I wouldn't say they were too expensive. Mezco is asking the same amount for their green-faced fury, which is also a limited edition, but it's two times smaller than this one, and less detailed than this one. The main thing I didn't like on this 18" one is the pose of the Fury. It reminds me more on a real baseball player, than a member of a gang. I guess the grass base doesn't help either, it would look much better if the Fury was standing on tarmac (made the scene when they waiting for Warriors in front of the underground).
Anyway, that all doesn't matter now, coz they won't make it, nor any other one from the movie.

Re: 18" Baseball Fury
The price was too high for introductory statue. The base was all wrong. Could have been a street, with a 96th STREET sign. His pose looked like he was waiting for a pitch. And he looked like he was constipated. I think if they had offered it for $70-$80 they would have sold. MEZCO wasn't asking that price for the green figure, TOYWIZ was. They jack up all their prices. The only thing that was reasonable was the purple figures. I would like to see if they go with the bobble head plan. Bobble heads are usually not expensive and are a great collectible and have a built in collectors base. Guess time will tell. Seems like everyone still has costumes left.

Re: 18" Baseball Fury
If they were selling them for $70-80, they would hardly have any profit. Beside that, who wants to buy a statue for $70, and then pay another $25-30 for postage, or even more for deliveries abroad? As I said, I don't think the price was a problem, it was the look of the statue, which (beside coloured face), had nothing to do with Baseball Furies.

Re: 18" Baseball Fury
Here in the states, unless you want overnight shipping, the cost is nowhere near $25-$30. Also there are statues that are cheaper. Companies don't care what you pay to ship your item ordered and US companies don't care what the postage is overseas. I still think if the cost was lower, these would have sold. I'm starting to think maybe only your "friend" that ordered it.

Re: 18" Baseball Fury
As far as I know, companies like Sideshow are not sending their items by normal mail, instead they're using UPS/FedEx or similar companies, which are more expensive, coz of faster delivery, signature on delivery, etc.
Regarding the price of the statue, if you go to the Sideshow site, you'll see the prices of premium format figures going from $225 to $400, which means that this price of $270/$300 for normal/limited edition of the Fury is 'normal' for the figures of that kind. Now, a different question is would we like the price to be lower. Of course we would, but that doesn't change the fact that the $270/300 is usual price for those type of figures.
I think you should give 'Warriors' fans around the world a little bit more credit. If a friend of mine has ordered that statue to Croatia, ready to pay who knows how much shipping and custom fees, then I'm sure a lot more Warriors fans/collectors from other countries have done the same, not to mention the fans from the US, who don't have to pay custom fees, or people here in the UK, who could order it from Play.com and get free shipping, so I don't see the reason why would he be the only one.

Re: 18" Baseball Fury
What os it with people here that are from the UK saying I'm not giving WARRIORS fans credit, while on the contrary I am saying that no one liked this and I was saying that a fan wouldn't buy it. This thread has been on since the statue was announced and your friend was the only one to purchase it. If you could buy it from this play.com place then why bring up shipping in your post when you can get free shipping from them? Yes, sideshow statues are that price but almost all have a much bigger fan base than the WARRIORS. It is MY OPINION that if they introduced these at a lower price it would have sold better.

Re: 18" Baseball Fury
And how do you know no one liked it? I'm also not too impressed with that figure, but I know a few fans who said they like the figure, few of them said they'll get it when it gets released, and one person I know pre-ordered it. Of course, that's not gonna happen now, but that doesn't change the fact that someone actually liked the statue. It's the same thing with the Turnbull AC jacket you bought from SM. Some of us thought it's crap, some thought it's good. Different people, different opinions, not everyone is thinking like you or me.LIER ONE wrote: What os it with people here that are from the UK saying I'm not giving WARRIORS fans credit, while on the contrary I am saying that no one liked this and I was saying that a fan wouldn't buy it.
I assume you have Sideshow sales lists to prove no one else bought it?LIER ONE wrote: This thread has been on since the statue was announced and your friend was the only one to purchase it.
FYO, any online or a high street shop has to put an order for the item if they want to have for sale it on their site/in store. If you go online and search for the statue, you'll see there's at least a few online shops who put it on for pre-ordering. I've also checked in 'Forbidden Planet' store in London, and they said they will have it for sale. It means all of them have put an order for statue, and the stores are not usually taking one item, they're buying in bulk.
The shipping price is the quote for the signed delivery I got few years ago when I wanted to buy Freddy Krueger premium size figure, and arrange a shipping to my friend's address in NY, not the shipping for the UK or Europe, which would probably be twice as much.LIER ONE wrote: If you could buy it from this play.com place then why bring up shipping in your post when you can get free shipping from them?
Of course they would, that's MY OPINION as well, but the question is, is it worth for Sideshow to sell it for less (especially for the price you've said they should go for, $70-80). You're forgetting that this statue hasn't been made by Sideshow, they're just selling it for Pop Culture Shock, and that means both companies need to get profit from it, without even mentioning other costs, like transport, etc. That was MY POINT.LIER ONE wrote: Yes, sideshow statues are that price but almost all have a much bigger fan base than the WARRIORS. Re: 18" Baseball Fury
I don't know the sales for this nor do I care I said and I quote "I don't think anyone liked this". Tht was the general concenses with the forum members here and people from other figure sites I was on. There are a bunch of statues made by other DESIGNERS (that is what pop culture is a design company not a manufacturer). I'm done talking about a dead issue.

You said, and I quote 'I am saying that no one liked this and I was saying that a fan wouldn't buy it.', end of quote.
I'm also done talking about this issue, this figure is not happening anyway so there's no point.
