Now, I didn't find it... I precisely searched 4 it but...
Image
... I anyway apologize in advance if... there already is...

I was re-playing the game, you know that scene where Masai tells to Cyrus about the conclave: "it's dangerous, r u sure?" or something like that.
So my doubt is, is that "fear" right? I mean, was maybe Cyrus so blinded by his great idea (that's true), not to think there could be someone who didn't want him like 1 and only President?
After all he's a gang member, ye President, but always gang member... i.e. he knew in his "entourage" there weren't school-age kids!!!
Anyway I think conclave idea was right, but he simply had to guard himself in a better way... maybe more guys around him 4 istance!!!
What do you guys think? 8)

You know, sometimes I wonder this.  Did he really think every gang liked him or the Riffs? I am sure some of the gangs wanted to be great themselves,  also I am sure some got tired of living in the shadow of the Riffs.

Thanks 4 the answers guys.

About "Swans right hand man"'s: ye but ajax, even if he didn't want, wasn't able to stop him, he is not even a WarLord... so...???...
... and the other gangs: no choice??? Well I noticed that luther had a choice... boom!!!..., and he was from another gang... so...???
Anyway, IMO it was a great but too much risky Plan!!! 8)

Lions has a point...there might've been a possibility that another gang had the same idea...but once they saw that Cyrus was already shot...their work was done by somebody else...but whether or not one other gang had that plan in mind they should be glad they didn't do it or else they would've ended up like the Rogues...better safe then wasted...

i have to agree with lions to, i mean look at earths history of leaders getting assasinated, if luthor didnt do it it would be just a matter of time,

Well thanks again 4 your answers, you know when I posted the topic I had in my mind what Lions and stevo2k6 had written, because of that I've thought Cyrus was maybe a little bit superficial, I mean the risk was very high, the history doen't lie, maybe more than 1 gang would have tried to kill him, there was a truce, but was it really sure?... IMO and only IMO he could have lined up more men around him, during his speech... it could work or not, but would have been a better move...
... anyway it's the movie... ok... but 4 istance, working the human wall around him, what about a movie where Cyrus, only hurt, would have gone to Coney 4 wasting the rogues.
I mean, in order to this theory, Cleon was obviously with The Warriors cause he didn't go and check Cyrus condition. 8)

About Scurvy Dog theory, brilliant, well you know it could be an excellent new movie plot. I mean it could be some kinda prequel-new movie, I'd like more than a remake, and the double-betrayal theory is really very good.
Do you rem when luther cried, final scene, well they could start by luther shouting: "ahhhhhhhhhhhh, they were... the xxxxxxx gang........!!!" 8)

Scurvy Dog wrote: This opens up a whole new area of thought - what if another gang altogether wanted to be bigger than the Riffs, but did not want the attention of killing Cyrus - so they paid Luther to do it "for no reason", and frame whatever gang happened to be standing closest to him?

Maybe they even paid half up front, and would pay the other half after the patsy, in this case, The Warriors, (although Luther turned out to be the real patsy) were eradicated?

Who knows? Maybe that is what happened, and then they betrayed Luther as well - and said they "saw" who shot Cyrus, to cover up their involvement.
thats an amazing theory i like it alot, it makes so much sense to, good answer :)

Well thats what makes the transition between Cyrus and Masai so different.  Cyrus represented more of a slash between Dr. King and Malcom X.  He had this inner feeling of faith that lifted him into a dream state that he could have swore was going to work.  On the other hand, Masai was more of that Booby Seal image from the Black Panthers.  He realized that society is full of inevitable factions, with different dreams, ideals, philosophies, and believe systems.  So we must avoid the rest of the world, and stick within our own way of thinking and operating.  Its basically like the whole image of the Yin Yang sign.  There must be a pair of opposites to balance out the universe.  Masai was Cyrus's alter ego.  the world is full of leavers and takers.  Takers are the advanced civilization that wants to compete and harness everything in their power, whether you think its for good or evil.  Leavers are the more primitive part of society, that just simply goes along with mother culture, rather than trying to over power it.  Cyrus was in my opinion simply a Taker.

Cyrus made a huge mistake trying to bring every big gang in the city to unite...you would of had tension building and betrayals happening sooner or later..Cyrus wanted power...I think he was acting smartly like every gang would be helping out but they'd be doing their work for riffs Cyrus knew this, and it would just make him more powerfull as he'd have every gang in the palm of his hand, he'd be like a god.

But maybe a gang knew this was coming, we don't know who was on the phone to Luther maybe it was someone who knew what Cyrus really wanted and didn't want to work for the riffs, or maybe it was just a guy who knew what the outcome would be and just told Luther to get on with the job he was set out to do, he also would've known Luther was razy so that would help if the riffs found out he shot Cyrus(which they did) and thatnobody would be pulling stings against Luther as he'd be leading them with a ind like his.

All these theories put together and we could have answers to a lot of question on this forum.

your right, so much can be answered if we all put our thoughts together,

heres a thought maybe the Lizzies could have been in on it, they obviously wanted the warriors dead as they had knifes and guns, maybe luthor was in on it with them, like on the phone etc, just a thought is that so dont bite my head off lads, im hoping u can appreciate that theory actually,:)

You know stevo2k6, I've always thought luther was calling the real "shooting" mind. Maybe some Org. Crim. member or another Riffs member...  but I don't just think the lizzies.
But anyway yours it's a good theory, I mean every theory could be good... we'll never know the truth about... only, some theory is 100% good, or 50% good or 10% good... 8)

Now, thanks to that Post by War Chief (that one about David Patrick Kelly mail, "Who was Luther talking to on the Phone?", that Boss... that sorta Luther's Mentor... etc), we CAN BE SURE that the Mafia (or other Criminal and/or Politics Enterprises ) didn't want a Big "Powerful and Dangerous" Gang.
I remember many of us thought this, I know, but now, and I repeat myself, that Great "Luther" Mail Re-Opens the Doors... if you know what I mean.
That mail, somehow, gives us a Tenet!!!
So I'd like to add something to my Topic's Main Question, ie:
Was maybe Cyrus so blinded by His Great Idea (and that's true!!!), not to think there could be Someone who didn't want him like the One and Only President? But this time, not among the Gang Members, but among New York City Powerful People? "Mobbers", Politicians or some Crime Syndicates' Representative? (Among other things, he also talked about the Crime Syndicates during his Speech... so...)-

Well, what about you guys? 8)
