Why wait?

I wonder why the Lizzies waited? I wonder if they had called some of the Riffs and they tried to stall the Warriors until the Riffs got there. If they were going to kill the Warriors, why not take them to an alley and shoot them right there? I mean they saw that there were only 3, well 2, Rembrandt didn't look like much of a menace. Just a thought.

They couldn't necessarily take them to an alley because then the guys will know something is up...I think the Lizzies wanted to cool things off first...make the guys feel welcome and comfortable...then once they got them settled down that's when they attacked...I also feel that the Lizzies wanted to do it in their apartment that way if they would've wasted the guys it wouldn't be too much trouble to hide the bodies and look suspicious...possibly to have some proof to show the Riffs that some of the Warriors were wasted...

Well theSleepiLizzie_of_2006's is a good point, 4 real!
But this time I don't agree cause and that's my opinion: try to kill the guys in Union Square St was too risky, ok.... but during the way back to their hang-out The Lizzies should have shot them, I mean the 3 Warriors already felt welcome, maybe Rembrandt wouldn't have noticed anything and bam!!!... 3-0 4 The Lizzies!!! About the bodies, no care about them... The Lizzies had only run to their apartment. So to me, the girls wasted too many minutes in the hang-out... but well better 4 The Warriors, better 4 us and 4 the movie!!!

Plus, I think the Lizzies wanted sole credit for wasting some of the warriors. They didn't want to call the Riffs over like they needed their help.

Well if you think about it, this probably explains the whole persona of the lizzies. Who knows maybe they like to sadisticly play with their men. It wasn't so much that they waited for the sake of it, its because their weapon is the weapon of a "woman". You know that psychological weapon. After all in that case, why don't we ask, "why do the furies use bats instead of guns?" Its because each gang specializes in a teqnique that works for them, and I truley think that walter Hill put this into the story in order to show that the warriors can make it out of any challenge, physical or mental. The Lizzies specialty was "temptation", and twho knows how many enimies have fallen to the Lizzies because of it. Perhaps the warriors were the only ones to escape it.

Yeah molotov, that's a good point!!!
In gang's world you can say "I did it!!!", only if you (and only you/and your gang) really did it alone!!!
I think that was Lizzies' purpose... but well we know the movie... 8)

Well first of all Molotov make a good point...and I would like to add that there's a possibility the Lizzies were trying to make a name for themselves...since they were women while the rest of the gangs were men...they wanted to show the rest of the gangs that they could do it without any help from them whatsoever...the only help is to think of a way to get rid of the bodies...but that would've been a horrible ending...to think of it half of them would've been
caught by women one way or another...only 3 Warriors make it back to Coney...its the unthinkable!!!!
Secondly...seeing proof that they were close with the Punks or any other gang would've said too much...its kind of like finding out who Luther was talking to...the mystery of it makes it more suspenseful and makes one think of who it could possible be...and who would the Lizzies be referring to when they said "they're lame, real crippled"...it makes the story more interesting...
