Cyrus good fighter!

I mean he is the President of the 1st gang of the city, so he'll surely be a good fighter... but he surely is a better thinker!!!
Now do you think he would have beaten (in imaginary fights - 1 to 1) Cleon, Swan, Ajax, Snow, Masai, Furies leader... and so on... i.e.: I repeat, to me he is a big MAN(big mind), but he is also and really the best fighter? You know as the ancient leaders... 1st in every arts!!! 8)

I see where your going with this. I actually tuely believe that perhaps he was a great fighter. He always reminded me as a mixyure between Dr King and Malcom X. He had the great "dream:, just like Dr. King, buy if possible, he probably used that whole, "by any means necessary", style icase his army needed. Cyrus looks like the type of man who has been through a lot over the years. you know all that racial tension of the 60's,, and coping with different issues over time. So I do assume that for him to survive all that time, meant that he has gone throught his share of fights, starting from ground up, and into the man we all know. Its possible that he was a legendary fighter, in another time, and era.

Well, I think that Cyrus should be a good fighter but he is surely a great politician and he climbed all the positions in Gramarcy Riffs' ranking becoming the leader and when he was ready to run the city something went wrong......

Cyrus is definitely a great fighter AND a great thinker, otherwise he wouldn't be Riffs' leader.Since they are the biggest(and the strongest)gang in NY,IMO,he was better fighter than any of the Warriors.Knowing that,I sometimes feel sorry he didn't have bigger part in the movie.

Yes I've always saw him as DR.King and Malcolm X. Cyrus was a intelligent man obviously yeah im sure he has ben through alot. I think the purpose for a truce was to make gangs more organized so they can work to together since some gangs had racial tension with each other.

Well surely he was as Dr King and Malcolm X, I agree who thinks so!!!
I don't really think he was the bestbestbest fighter of all... but he was able to survive in those years(adam88), so he was a very good fighter!!! Anyway to me he was the "GREATEST" man of all the same(best fighter or not)!!!
Plus, I sometime feel sorry about he didn't have a bigger part in the movie, too!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8)

Gandhi didn't fight and neither did Dr. King Jr or Malcolm X...they all believed in nonviolence...Whether Cyrus was strong or weak I don't believe that he was a fighter...if someone tried to get in a fight with him or he saw others fighting I see Cyrus as the passive one who would try to control or calm the fight rather than continue it...he brought every gang to join together for a truce...why would he want to fight?!?!?!

i would think he would be a good fighter. Like most of you already mentioned he is the leader of the biggest gang so that must mean he is a good fighter.

he comes across as like a teacher maybe he learned martial arts and taught the riffs it aswell, i think he would have been a good fighter to be leader

does he really have to be a great fighter to be a great leader? To be a great leader its the wisdom you have to lead...its not how bad or big your fists are...or how quickly you can make someone unconscious...i agree he does look more like he can kick someone's back using martial arts rather than using regular fighting methods

I disagree. The Riffs had their own dojo, so I am guessing that Cyrus was a martial arts master. To reach "Master" level, at least in karate, you have to be a 10th degree black belt.
Unfortunately, a black belt does nothing to stop a bullet.
exactly, im still going with that he would probably be a martial arts expert, maybe hew wasnt though.

Yeah well cyrus is the president of the biggest gang in the city so he has to be a good fighter but knowone can dodge a bullet but cyrus would beat cleon and ajax and swan he could beat anyone.
