You know this scene always cracks me up.  I mean I feel sorry for the girl.  But whe she asks Luther about the money he owes and he says: For what!  I mean I can understand, Luther didn't know where that was coming from.  He didn't see Cropsy take the candy so he just reacted accordingly.

Lol, i agree, he didnt know what the money was for so his reaction was aggresive because he thought he owed money for no reason! (Sorry if that dosent make sense.)

I always just thought it was because he was a cocky, arrogant little creep who enjoyed scaring people, making them miserable, etc lol But your explanation does make sense Lions.

lol, you have a good point cowboy rules.  He may seem to be a sadistic, un-sympathetic jerk, who has no remorse for the society that we live in, and may after all be evil incarnated.  Butsince Lions brings up that subject, its may be possible that he was just defending himself

I always thought the same.He always looked to me as some sort of arrogant idiot, and when the girl asked him for a money,he was probably thinking something like:"She has the guts to ask me for the money, doesn't she know who I am!?!?"

Lions explanation is also possible solution,it just shows how many different interpretations can we have of a small fragment of the movie!

Yeh, either whats already been said, or just the fact that he was skitz. The whole rest of the movie Luther just comes accross as a crazy non-thinking fool but anyways

Hey guys, I understand all your ideas about, but I agree who thinks luther knew where that was coming from!!!
Or, maybe he didn't know about cropsey, but IMO, he understood what Candy Store Girl meant!!!
So his "4 what?!!!" was the same 4: "Hey, I'm from a gang, I don't pay anything!!!" 8)

I have seen the movie about a trillion times (Since I watch it on average 3 times a week...at least) and I have to say I never really thought of that before. I always thought he was just being a jackass! But that does make a hell of a lot of sense!

I still think it would've been hilarious if the candy store girl promptly threw the candy bar back and whapped him in the face with it and making some snappy comeback. Of course, she would probably end up getting the stand trashed, but still...
I just like the idea of Luther getting beat up by a girl for some reason.

I think it's because he SOUNDS like a girl half the time...so it's pretty probable...

Please.... even I could kick Luthers ass, and again anyone who has seen me knows i'm a 115 pound 5'7 weakling and I can't fight my way out of a paper bag. But that just shows how Luther is: he never fights without lots of people with him, and if i was as much of a wimp i would too.
