COOL NEW INFO - Names & Stuff - script spoilers

Post by War Chief »

I've just been reading the script that Jamie sent me and it is really good. I just thought you want to know a few things I picked up on:

First off, two things we already know but which I'll change on the cast page:

Snow is actually Snowball
Fox is "The Fox"

In the script, Mercy asks Fox what his real name is, and it is Francis Conroy and that he is called Fox because of his name Francis.

The Rogue that is second in command to Luther (the one who picks up the candy bars) is called Cropsey.

There's also reference to a Warrior called Plato (there's a photo of his vest on the site) and from what I can see, this refers to Rembrandt.

The Fox is in the script the most, relegating Swan. E.g. Fox takes a fancy to Mercy and is in place of Swan during the subway tunnel scene where they kiss. Vermin gets shot by the Lizzies. Cowboy ends up at The Lizzies and was playing the lines of Cochise. More info to come soon, but this should be ample to talk about for now! 8)
The one and only!

I guess we can start talking about the script now that you brought up some points. What I also found interesting is that in the power hierarchy, Rembrandt would be 3rd. In other words, he would take power if the Fox would not be around.

In reference to Plato, I think that's the name for one of the key characters in the book as well.

So the name Plato in the script is that Rembrant's real name or the original name of the character? And if Cowboy ends up at the Lizzies' does Cochise fight the Furies in the park or does he not have any lines when they're at the Lizzies?

Cochise is actually grabbed from behind by some Furies and killed.

No wonder he was constantly being picked on by Luther---he has to stay second--with a name like Cropsey--how far behind can Mopsey, Flopsey and Peter Cottontail be!!! YYYEEEWW!!!!! LOL
I would have found a new nickname FAST.

I also found it sort of fascinating that Snowball never talked till the last line either. He was real presence in the movie too--but wouldn't have been nearly as effective if he had stayed silent.

AND I am glad they didn't kill off Cowboy in the Furies fight-though no one would have called them anything but Macho if that had happened--even though it wasn't stated that they actually killed him, they threw him in the River and he was never heard from again.

Giving Swan over the main Fox lines, in order to get rid of Fox eventually, actually worked for me, I can't see Fox's character saying alot of that stuff and being viewed realistically----the script had Fox's character being much harder and more aggressive than the actual movie portrayal had him.

But Swan was still Swan---no matter what lines he got or what his predicament/situation was--he was cool, aggressive, and worked his way through the problems.

I cannot see Rembrant in charge if he was third in command. If that were true then at the end when Swan decides he wants to take off then Rembrant would be Warlord. If Ajax came back to take over I'm sure there would be no objections.

That's true. Ajax would definitely get Cowboy's vote.

hey vermin76, I'm sure the videogame coming out in October will let us play as any character and have them kick as much ass as we want. This would include Fox, Cleon and Ajax.

I'm not sure if when following the story, if we could change their fates though. you know, like 'what if' paths and alternate endings. A videogame could make it possible. it's just up to Rockstar if they want the videogame to have optional paths players can take to see how different the story can be if certain members didnt get wasted or busted along the way.

:D

The movie went through many amazing changes. yeah some of us would like things to have happened differently. I would have liked all of them to make it, but I guess they didnt want it to be too fantasy and unstoppable. So they kind of made the reality of things harsher, to teach kids in the audience (who would even think of copycatting what they saw) that there is a chance they could pay a heavy price for their actions.

My bad. But I know I read "Plato" somewhere and that was linked to Rembrandt. If I find the quote, I'll bring it.

could i ask some questions? some of you experts may have an idea.

Q1) who do you think luther is talikng to on the phone?

Q2) who is the hardest warrior? i think it is between snow, ajax and swan.

Q3) who wanted swan to deck the prom couple? bit harsh but the tall one looks like a poodle.

Q4) who do you think is the most popular warrior? i think it may be ajax and vermin is a dark horse. (i got the big one)

Q5) is the book worth buying? im probably gonna get it.

Q6) what do you think happened after the film (fictionally)? swan go travelling with mercy?

Q7) dont you think some of them (not ajax by any stretch of the imagination) are a bit 'nice' or 'mature' to be in gang warfare? im thinking the fox, snow and cowboy. they dont look the type!

1) I think he may have been talking to the Lizzies (how else would the Lizzies know about what went on?) or the dj....just my theory.

2) AJAX!!!! AJAXAJAXAJAX! duh. What with the kicking the cop, sneering at Cowboys enthusiasm for Cyrus, and wanting to "get a little exercise" he's definitely the winner!

3) ME! that prom group was a bunch of sissies! Looked pretty chicken**** to me!

4) Most popular? What is this junior high? Nah, i'm just meesin with ya...Either Ajax, Vermin, or Swan...ajax cuz he's so bad-***, Vermin cuz he's so blatantly sexual (and his pick-up lines are seriously LAME), and Swan because, except for the gang part, he's the stereotypical "ideal" guy! Buff, nice cheekbones, caring demeanor, etc....

5) I haven't read it yet, but when I do, i'll let you know

6) I'm not sure...I think Mercy stuck around with them or Swan and Mercy left and either Snow, Cochise, or Vermin took over.

7) I don't really think they look the type either, but anyone can fall on hard times and decide to join a gang. Ajax's "Shit. I bet you can't even find a subway" to Swan suggests (well, to me, at least) that Swan might have come from a well-off family and Ajax might have some contempt for that!

Actually there are pages of responses to most of your questions esp. the phone, and who/warrior and the book and what happened after: just scroll around and look---most of your questions have been asked and answered several times both here in Warriors thread and down in Warriors Chat.

About the book--there are several threads about it--Marlboroprojects has a review/book report on it practically by chapters---IT is completely different from the movie--and does NOT have the same characters---only the same character characteristics--so you can line up the book characters with the movie characters by what they do.

Q7----so you are saying that because some of them seem more intelligent than the others-they probably wouldn't be in gangs?? That seems not very realistic to me--usually people get involved with gangs because they are looking for either a way to belong and feel part of something----OR they are looking for a way to survive their situation, intelligence has very little to do with it.
Personally--I doubt very much if any of them had any "well off" in their home lives---They were all from the "neighborhood" hence why they were in it in the first place----IF Swan's family was better off--he would have options--and it didn't seem to me that any of them had many options at all-hence Swan's discontent with the way his situation was going in his life--if he had money this wouldn't be a concern because he would have a way out of the neighborhood.

I think the fact that Snow and Swan displayed characteristics of thinking through their problems before they fought over them, just shows strong character and intelligence that may actually be able to get them out of gang , and doing something else at a later time in their lives.

Ajax was just jealous of Swan's authority within the group, not necessarily who Swan was. He was just as resentful of Cleon if you watch the deleted scenes--when Cleon tells him to soldier and keep his mouth shut--the look he gives Cleon says "drop Dead before I kill you" I think Ajax has a chip that just stays on his shoulder most of the time. as part of the group, he is glad to help out anyone in trouble--like Cowboy was, it gives him a chance to flex his muscle.
