The Hives

In an old issue (September 2002) of UK music magazine 'Q' i found an article about Swedish rock/punk band 'The Hives'. It has a couple of references to 'The Warriors' which are:
The group adopted their black and white colour scheme in 1996, inspired by the street mobs in 1979 cult gang movie The Warriors. The smartness often provoked punk crowds and The Hives' ability to dodge missiles improved markedly.
and.....
The little things that rock The Hives world...
The Warriors
Walter Hill's 1979 cult movie, in which rival gangs in a dystopian Manhattan each have their own distinct costume (the bat-wielding Baseball Furies, etc) showed the group the importance of a dress code. Oddly they didn't choose to emulate the title gangs leather waistcoats/bare chest combo.

Cheers,
