Warriors screening pictures Part 1

Post by theSleepiLizzie_of_2006 »

Hey everyone...I know I'm alittle late with posting pictures but its better late then ever...plus I've only been a member for a few days...I know someone else posted some pics from that day but all that appeared were  :?: marks...right now I'm posting the gangs that appeared at the Conclave and if anybody is curious to see them but can't view them don't hesitate to send me a PM...how can I post all the pictures without having to use a few posts just to put up the pics?

August 2, 2006: It was the hottest day of the year...running around most of NYC...and the FAB-U-LOUS Lizzies of City College of New York plus a Male Lizzie ran and walked...heat, sweat and all...until we finally make it to C.I. to watch The Warriors screening (thanks to Netflix & Alamo Drafthouse) and won the prize of Warriors vest...and having brunch with the The Warriors cast the next day!!!! The upsetting part of it was that Cowboy, Fox, and Ajax didn't show up!  Not even Luther! CAN U DIG IT?!?!?!

Enjoy!

there are other pictures on the Alamo Drafthouse website: http://www.originalalamo.com/archives/2 ... index.html for those who didn't know

Thanks AlexFugazi and the Alamo Drafthouse crew!!

Ha ha!  Great pics!  You guys look great in your vests.  Funny thing about the BaseBall Furies team, they came all the way up from Ausitn (like we did) to compete in the scavenger hunt, and they didn't even come close to finishing!  I think they were the only team to quit!  They said it was too hot, but they lived in Texas!

yes i felt bad that they quit...I was told that they quit bc one of their members got sick...then one of the Furies confirmed it with us that it was true...thats really sad that they came from Texas just to have a member get sick...but i give them credit for doing their best and they were one of the smallest group too...along with the Boppers who were the smallest group with 3 members...however there were the hurricanes which I never took a pic of bc I think they showed up late or I didn't know if they were doing the scavenger hunt or not...but they were young kids probably younger than us with one older guy...most of the Lizzies kept believing that they were following us...and I think they were trying to cheat off of us bc they were always around us after awhile...and yes it was too damn hotttttt...the hottest day of the year...yes it was fun but it was too darn HOT!  It was worse underground...New York City Subways in the Summer...not fun at all!!! But we were excited when we got out of the park to go to our next hunt in the 96 street station...I didn't think I would survive especially since the majority of us didn't have water bottles with us until we bought some after leaving the park...and since it was so darn hot i thought we would never find the baseball furie we had to look for as part of the hunt...but it was fun yelling out "Hey Batta Batta Batta Hey Batta Batta"...me and a few other Lizzies lost most of their voice the next day...I remember when we got to Broadway Junction and we were looking for the Orphan, Zack...a police officer kept telling us he knew what we were looking for and where he was...I thought it was a trick and if we went with him we would be disqualified for being picked up by the fuzz but it wasnt true and we went to find the Orphan...which I have to say he did a great job trying to do the eye thing that Paul Greco does in the movie...

Hey Alex...what was Lisa Loeb's exact purpose being in the Scavenger hunt?

I know i've posted up more than 5 posts today but I can't help it! thats it i'm going to have to wait to post up more pics later

Here are a few more pictures...Unfortunately no one took a picture of us running up to Tim (the guy who hosted the screening) when he announced that we won but its all in our memories! When we got to Coney Island...we all ran as fast as we could to "shoot the freak"...after that we went to the park where we had to go to last...we came in 4th...but it wasn't over...we had a RAP to do (two of those pics show us doing our rap and dance)...I loved it...the beat was awesome too...but I knew right away we were going to win:

1.  The Boppers who came in before us didn't have much to show...no pictures...didn't find anything...no rap...just visuals

2.  The first one to get to Coney Island were the Wizards and after that were the Punks...they either missed  clues which is a BIG FAT NO NO...:o and one of the two gang's raps were horrible...

3.  Most of the other gang's raps didn't have much movement in them...just rapping...but guys like the Savage Hun did a great job rapping...

4.  We were lucky to find our way...we could've called in but doing that takes points away and that's not good!

5.  We kicked a** with our rap...I think the best part that the judges loved was when we did the little "Lizzie dance"->similar to the dance that involves the blonde hair chic with the black chic

The best is yet to come everyone! I will post some my pics from the Brunch very shortly...just be patient...

Hey, I'll let Zack know you loved his Orphan face...he was practicing it for us the whole way up there to Coney!  That guy can pull off a million impressions...once he starts in on the people we work with though...can't stop lauging.

What was Lisa Loeb's purpose?  Well...funny story.  The whole tour we took was put together by the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema's touring arm, the Rolling Roadshow...Netflix sponsored the tour, but didn't actually do any of the planning.  In exchange for their sponsoship, we afforded them some promotional considerations...which included their 'spokesperson' Lisa Loeb.  (Their choice...not ours)

Lisa turned out to be super nice however, and we talked quite often later on in the tour.  At first though, I think a lot of us were like, "what's she doing here?"

The whole trip was pretty fantastic, but one show for me was talked about the whole tour- Warriors...

Hey...I'm soooo glad to be back...when they say they'll ban you for overposting...they really really mean it...I go crazy in the forum posting here and there but i'll try to control it this time so it doesn't happen for another 5 boring days not being able to respond...

AlexFugazi: Zack should know who I am...we basically sent eachother emails before this event...he gave me the honor of being a Lizzie and I was literally jumping up and down histerically...and i'm sure that The Warriors screening was the biggest thing that you guys did...look at it...the cast was there and we were roleplaying...it was exciting...i hope you guys do it again soon for the conclave 2009.  Lisa Loeb does seem super nice and I would've liked to go up to her however I'm not her biggest fan and I might've liked one of her songs...but then again after that one song I really don't know what she's done...Was her interviews with the cast shown anywhere on T.V.?

As for more pictures I'm still desperately waiting and waiting for the rest of my members to send it to me...I would really like to post them up here :-D so i'm trying to be patient even after 3 months!!!
