If cyrus plan went ahead and all the gangs did merge to form one gang do u think they would all become riffs or they would all keep there own identitys

I would say that if the plan did goahead new york would of been like a war. The gangs who didnt get
invited would of been wrecked. And that new york would of been a great place to vist ....
becasue i think cyrus is a good guy and he doesnt want no gangs to be wasted just wrecked.
What i dont get is that with all those gangs being to getter would they all have made a new name?
Or just kept there names?

They would probably organize the one HUGE gang into factions of the other gangs- for example:

Gang Name: The Dominators (book reference)
Factions: The Warriors, The Boppers, The Furies, The Punks, The Turnbulls, etc.

Something like that anyway...

On a similar note, does anyone think that Cyrus's plan would have been killed from the start because the governer or some other State figure would have went to the Federal gov't and the National Guard/Army would've been sent in?

I think They would have kept the same gang names but just took over the whole city with a big truce. They would control everything (the streets, drugs, guns, etc.)

If Cyrus's plan worked, it might be successful for a short time, but probably couldn't last that long. The most likely reasons would be.

A lot of gangs and leaders wanting a bigger share of power for themselves figting it out within the group, and causing the truce to collapse.

The "Over a hundred more" gangs not on the Riffs network deciding they don't want the bigger crews running everything, They might not be as strong, but if they joined together in an anti Cyrus alliance, they could cause the bigger gangs problems, especially if they allied with the cops.

The National Guard would be sent in to back the cops up and take the city back.

They would have kept their own identitys , thats for sure. They would just have a huge truce between each other, no more gang rivaly, no more if you come to my turf youll get wrecked. The purpose of gang life woudnt be triying to top other gangs anymore, it would mean for all of them to control the city as they wish... but cyrus says "one gang could run this city...one gang" which means possibly they would maybe decide a name for themselves coz he said "one gang" but i guess u have a point in a way

I did start this topic over a year ago, I think it was removed with a load of other topics. Basically because people were not up for dicussion and said stuff like, if Cyrus wasn't shot then there wouldn't be a film - laime stuff like that.

Or mabye cyrus was just trying to trick them into thinking that he was a good guy and then trick em into giving them their profits from "protection".  And then sell them out to the cops are something like that later.

Cyrus was a few years ahead of the times, it would have worked temporarily but in the 70s turf was more important than making money together selling drugs.
