I wouldn't join a gang full stop. I think the film is the best but, i also like The Shawshank Redemption but, i'm not going to get arrested so i can go to jail for 20+ years so i can try and escape

Street brawling is one thing and having buddys by you is another but when it gets down to it Gangs just don't go for me though I respect most of them.

Fictionally speaking, and about the film, yeah I would but like Fox said, I wouldn't want to get arrested, so I probably wouldn't last that long.

Of course, the warriors really has nothing to do with reality. If you were in a gang in NYC in 1979, you were most likely on a street corner selling drugs or in jail.  I don't think you'd come across too many guys wearing facepaint and baseball unis.

I guess it all depends on the situation you were born into.  If you were from a neighborhood where you needed to join a gang to survive, you did it.  If not, there's just not much point.

you have an excellant point molotov.  It all depends on the reality that you were born into.  Weather it was the comic book feel of the movie, or the hard life of this reality, I would not join at all.  I suppose if you felt you had a life that was going down hill, or you felt you had nowhere elseto go, I suppose.  But the truth is, in reality being in a gang can be like a constant state of hell.  I mean like molotov said, gangs durig this time, weren't the ant-heros of the movie.  ost of the time you became dead, in jail, or a junkie.  Sometimes it was alll about survival, and thats something I would never want to expierence ever.

I would join a gang but i would not just join any gang i would want to be in a good gang not just some rubbish gang like the orphans.

Ye I'd join a gang... and what about hard life 4 surviving other gangs, police and whoever else... I mean in the movie we've seen only a little part of typical gang life, surely every night isn't like that!!! But living and ruling the blocks, the streets has to be a fuc...and funny "job"!...anyway it'd be an AMAZING experience,
