Something funny about one of the Turnbull ACs ---
....I was watching again last night and thought I'd finally ask about this, if anyone feels the same way, haha....
When The Warriors are running from the ACs and their bus, does anyone else think the AC on top of the bus in the middle looks really kinda funny the way he's hanging and dangling there? It's like he's an infant the way he's going nuts and his legs are hanging off the front of the bus, bouncing all around LOL.
Now of course, I'd never tell him that, he doesn't look too chicken s**t to me.....

Big Cyrus. He was gonna run the whole city...what crap that was.
You're right
Yeah, I always thought that guy looks sort of childish the way he bahaves. Also, I've always wondered why those guys don't throw their bats and chains at the running bunch.
"This is what we fought all night to get back to?"

Yeah you are spot on, I have always thought he looked kind of babyish the way his little legs jiggle up an d down - hardly fear inspiring - but then again, there is a busload of goons with chains and bats so that's good enough reason to run for your life. Another point - why is it that the Bus seems only capable of about 10mph - it would have been quicker if the AC's had jumped off and chased!!
It's just the greatest Movie ever made ... end of story.

The same reason that Jason, Michael Myers, Freddy, and just about every other slasher killer walk very slowly after thier intended targets (who never can seem to run in the right direction), yet always manage to catch them.Another point - why is it that the Bus seems only capable of about 10mph

I always laugh when I see the Warriors run by the camera crew. The guy was bouncing all over because he was getting too excited about catching the Warriors.
We're going in there like everybody else nine guys no weapons

I really like that scene, it's tense no matter how many times you watch it. Ajax was crazy to stop and give them the finger though, imagine if the train doors had shut before he got on the train, and the rest of the Warriors had escaped without him, those lousy skin-headed fucks would've ripped him to pieces.

The film is never as tense after the chase has finished.

I don't know, I find it pretty tense when Swan reaches up Mercy's skirt. I always think he's gonna find something up there that he shouldn't.

LOL! I could also swear there's one set of shots where in the second shot, the bus is even further back than in the previous shot! Now granted, that bus did have a lot of weight on it, being full of ACs with their weapons and such. But yeah, the ACs may have had a better chance if they got off the bus! Pretty cool rickety old bus tho'.Atmospheric wrote:Yeah you are spot on, I have always thought he looked kind of babyish the way his little legs jiggle up an d down - hardly fear inspiring - but then again, there is a busload of goons with chains and bats so that's good enough reason to run for your life. That may have led to a cool scene where Ajax maybe runs along the tracks chasing the train! Especially in the Bronx, the elevated train stations are pretty close together, and Ajax could have possibly made it to the train as it was stopped at the next station, especially in '78 when it took a little longer for a train to leave a station. In NYC all the elevated train tracks have a "walkway" either in the middle of next to the tracks, of course it's for transit workers only, no public. I wonder tho' if they all had them in 1978 when the film was shot.Coney Island Baby wrote:I really like that scene, it's tense no matter how many times you watch it. It was filmed in Brooklyn at the Eastern Parkway station. But, i'm sure you're right about the Bronx station and they are probably much the same.
