There's a pretty new movie called the Purifiers which is about gangs/martial arts and definitely Warriors inspired.

What other movies are strongly Warriors inspired ?

A lot of people say the Wanderers, i'm not so sure

The Warriors and the Wanderers were both being filmed at the same time, and neither had any influence over the other-Totally different premise to each story-in fact if anything, it was more like a contest of which would be released first, and be the most successful. So strike that thought off.

I am not so sure that The Warriors actually influenced any other movies--though they did seem to influence alot of music.

walk proud and defiance are two movies that came out after the warriors, and were made by the studios to cash in on the success of the warriors, the same was said of the wanderers.

There was a rumour doing the rounds that The Purifiers and a new remastered print of The Warriors would be distributed as a double-bill at UK cinemas nationwide.

One of my other fav movies is "Class of 1984" When ever i read about it they put it along side the warriors. I can only see some things that remind of the warriors. But Class of 1984 is a kick ass movie. There is a Gang Fight kind of like the Bathroom fight in the warriors.

I started a topic earlier today about The Purifiers in the off-topic forum. As I said in that post, this movie's crapulence must be seen to be believed!!!

The gang literally has only six people in it. That's it. Half of them are totally lame girls, not even one mannish Aliens-esque tomboy in the whole bunch. Oh and there are only four other gangs:

The Eels (they are all skate-punkish, actually cool)
The Angels (a bunch of Puerto Ricans who wear all white with these crosses glued to their chests that make fun colors)
Some all-woman biker gang
And I think there was one other...but they all suck, and the combined force of all the gangs would make about 40 at the most.

But instead of ruling New York, some lame mayoral candidate or something wants them to do his dirty work. LAME.

I've actually been working on a writing a film with a friend for the past year now called Street Punks: Triumph Of The Will. It's a surreal comedy about a couple of hapless Street Punks. After my friend and I saw The Warriors earlier this year we were so taken aback by how awesome it was, and how it really is the apex of Street Punk movies, that our film doubled in length as we added in a whole section of the protagonists, Axle and Kyle, having to get back to their doss house and coming across different outlandishly dressed gangs of Street Punks. There is also various other Warriors references. We begin filming today, when I get some snaps and film clips I'll let you guys know - I figure Warriors fans will get a real kick out of it.
