Every gang The Warriors encountered seemed intent on killing them. Why? The Riffs wanted The Warriors alive. I've always wondered this. I know The Warriors did put up a resistance but when The Warriors were fleeing from The Turnbull A.Cs it seemed pretty clear that the Turnbulls wern't taking any prisoners. Same with The Lizzies they just started shooting shouldnt they just have pulled guns and informed The Warriors they were know captives.

wouldn't you want your gang to be the one who killed the guy's that killed the prez of the biggest gang in the city? imagine the respect level!! plus look who you're giving instructions to, knucklehead gang members! truce or no truce no banger takes to kindly to another click cruisin through their hood, we didn't, and we always knew when there was, we had spotters that would watch every way in to our neighborhood, and would let everybody know by different whistles. and he said "alive" if "possible" i guess the tunbulls, and the lizzies, didn't think it was possible!

You've got to kick a little a$$ if you expect them to cooperate and get them to the Riffs on their turf, they wouldn't just "boogey right in"

It is a lot more trouble to bring guys in alive. Just kill them and it is over with. The Riffs wanted them alive "if possible". That is a big if for gang members.

I think the statement about brining them in a live was more in jest than anything else. The Riffs had to know damn well that the Warriors wouldn't be taken alive - what gang would have? - so it was more rhetorical than anything.

think of it this way, the riffs didnt care how they were caught, as the script goes" alive if possible, if not, wasted, but i want them"...so they either end up at the riffs dead, or alive, and if they were alive, there would be no roast dinner awaiting them, the riffs would have taken them down anyway....so anyway or either waym the warriors would have been dead!

He wanted them alive so he could torture them.

In my opinion Turnbulls, Furies and Punks probably wanted them alive, but Lizzies were trying to kill them with guns as we saw in the movie.
