their is mention more than a few times about how the real gang, that had their mark sprayed over by the movie on the bathhouse, and how they were put in the movie as extras to releive tensions. does anybody know what extras they play in the movie?? or where they are in the movie?? just wondering.

I heard that no real gangs are in the film.

Anybody actually know as i'm going by what the pressbook states.

While there may not have been any real gangs in the film, there were plenty of real gang members that go bit parts. Mostly seen at the meeting in the bronx.[/code]

yeah my pressbook is on the way. (thanx fox) the reason i was wondering is, the bathhouse in in coney island and the only other gangs that are in any coney island scenes are the rogues, and the riffs. of course the logical answer for any real gang members to be seen as extras, is the big meeting scene but that was not on coney island. my point is did the real gang drive to the shoots that weren't in coney island? "ok everybody were gettin up early tomorrow, and takin a road trip! were gonna be in a movie!!" lol who knows???

The most likely scenario is that some of the Riffs were the extras. The interior warehouse shots could have been done at CI. I am sure that not all the Riffs were struggling actors.

It would be interesting to see just exactly what the gangs in that area looked like at that time and to know who these "real" gang members were.
