Well Cowboy rules first you got to abandon these so called friends (Just Kidding!) Maybe they thought it was cheesy because of the outfits and are to used to these amazing special effect movies.

If you look at the conclave, some of the outfits are flat out ridiculous. And cheesy.
The fact that most of the warriors are shirtless wearing only brown leather vests seems pretty cheesy. I guess you really have to keep in mind that the director was never going for reality and was try to create a look and atmosphere for the film.

I've only had 2 friends watch the whole movie so far. One of them said she liked it, but one day I got her mad, and she claimed she didn't like it that much. And the other one, she said she loves it, thinks it's an amazing movie, and always begs me to bring it over to her house so we can watch it again. But she also likes to go on about how hot she thinks some of The Warriors, like Swan & Cowboy, are...

sounds like some of you have wierd friends.they have been pampered too much with modern movies and all the overblown special effects.i have never thought of the warriors as ever being a cheesy film.so i say this to those on this site that think it is cheesy watch it over and over again.at the end of this should you still find it cheesy then leave this forum.this forum is true fans of the film it is not for people to come in here tear chunks out of the film then claim theyre so called fans of this excellant film.

It doesn't matter what your friends think. They probably loved Deuce Bigalow, European Gigolo, right?
Some people, including a lot of film critics, just don't get this movie. That's why it's a cult classic and remains a force to this day.
Sucky friends

The only cheesy thing I can find in the whole movie comes from one line. And every single time it's said, I cringe. When everyone is on the beach and Luther says, "This time you got it wrong." BLECH. I hate that line. I hate how it's said, I hate everything about it. I'd skip over it, but it's a pivitol part of the movie.
