what is she? I think she's Italian.

The director wanted a puerto rican girl to play her.

I confused. >_<

I think she's supposed to be Puerto Rican. The poverty, Apache's tattoo and her words give me that impression.

Deborah didn't necessarily have the same heritage as Mercy.

the character of mercy in my opinion is italian.

deborah herself sounds as though she has either dutch or belgian ancestory.

van can be either dutch or belgian and von is german.

Yeah, she seems Italian...she does seem a bit Mexican or Puerto Rican, by her hair. But she seems Italian.

allways thought of her as a latin woman, but italian also makes sense to me.
