The Furies fight scene has always bugged me. It just seemed like real lazy fight choreography to have guys with bats stand like statues in the background while their friends get pummeled.

I would have liked to see something like this:

After Ajax launches the Furies leader off his knee, Swan and Snow run up from behind and immediately take out two Furies.

Now it's five on three. More realistic odds. All the Furies can engage in the fight now. I really would have liked to see Ajax take on two guys at once. One of the furies would be a real expert with the bat and could twirl two bats at the same time like a kung fu master. Ajax would smash one of the Fury's bats with his own, then pop the guy in the head.

Instead of doing nothing, Snow uses his power and tosses a Fury face first into a tree. Swan takes out the last Fury just like in the actual scene, a good one on one bat fight ending with some power shots into the Fury's gut.

That's the case with a lot of fight scenes. Think of a martial arts movie. The protagonist deals with them one at a time because that's how they attack. People in Victorian England didn't show such manners.

To have them attack one person one at a time means you can grip what's going on easily, almost like slow motion.
