Ajax with the lady in the park scene

I am looking for opinions on the park scene when Ajax gets nabbed by the police after beiing cuffed to the bench by the lady in the park.
Q: was the lady on the bench an undercover cop in some sort of police sting? Or was she just some horney old lady and things got too out of hand for her random piece of young park ass?
If she was a cop, then back up took way too long to arrive. if she wasn't then her demeanor changed a little too much, and where can I find such a park.
In need of expert feedback.

The woman in the park was a cop. She pulled out her badge and told Ajax his nights in the parks were over for awhile.

Dude that scene was BS, Ajax shouldn't have gotten busted......
She used entrapment because she "invited" him to grab her...she said, "Show me how you treat the ladies." (something along those lines), she basically asked him to get it on with her....
If AJAX didn't get hemmed up by the cops in the park, he would of beat ass in the subway against the, "Punks".

Interestingly enough, the, shall we say, book prototype for the woman - gang-raped by Sol Yurick's "Coney Island Dominators" - was not a police "sting" participant, but merely a victim who called for help and attracted the officers' attention...
On the whole, the film seems to portray the police much more negatively than the book does. It even essentially lists "The Police" as one of the gangs, lower than the Orphans. The syndrom of Hollywood's take on "authority" during the 70s, I suppose...

I would image that Ajax would have been out of of jail the next morning because of the entrapment. He still was an idiot for leaving the gang for some wool. It would have been pretty cool if Snowball and Cowboy beat the crap out of the cops and rescued him.

I just noticed while watching the movie the other night that when cowboy and snow show up and the police cars are there, cowboy moves as if he's gonna go try to help but snow stops him. I'd never noticed that before...

Paul if you really are interested in varying opinions, use the search pages---as there are several older threads with pages of posts on the subject- with everyone's views.
YES she was a cop, that is why she had her own badge, whistle, and handcuffs.
YEs she was a decoy ploy to catch bad boys, no it was not entrapement it was her job!!
AJAX approached her first---she didn't say anything to anyone until he came back all alone-then when he approached her, she did her job. He could have just as easily kept on walking with the boys---you ask for trouble, you usually find it.
there weren't enough Warriors to even get close to the cops, let alone risk getting shot for someone who already proved he wasn't smart enough to stay out of trouble.
just my thoughts on the questions.

Well said RG. Ajax was not in the right place at the right time. For example, I've always loved tigers and done a lot of research about them. However, if a 500 pound tiger was in my living room I might not play Atari that day.

OH Emissary, LOL--I agree, but when that happens, please take pictures--it would really be worth a view.
I love tigers.

You know what would have been cool. Cyrus standing up there with a tiger. The tiger would appear from time to time as the Riff Mascot. When his beloved Cyrus is Killed, the tiger loses it and those poor Jones Street Boys regret the day they got chosen for this patrol.
