Can anyone find The Punks at the conclave?
Also, no Riff mentioned they blew it.
Why is that?
It was done (the fight) before they had the talk with the "snitch."
I'm looking forward for your theories.

Not sure why they didn't mention that the Punks blew it when they mentioned everyone else. As I recall, Masai asks the dude "What about our patrols?" "So far nothin, but we got somebody here you should talk to." Maybe the director thought that was getting a bit repetetive, listing all the gangs that got wasted.
That brings up another question about the Riffs patrols. Where the hell were they looking? It seems like all they had to do was put their men in every subway train heading to Coney and they'd find the Warriors.

Hey, that's another good question.
The Riffs had A LOT of soldiers.

The fact that the Riffs partols were inafective is a good point. Maybe they didn't bother patrolling on other gangs' turf.

I've been unable to see the Punks at the meeting. Also, the Punks fight was late in the evening. All that was left was the fight that Mercy had against her own pride, which she was losing until Swan supported her, probably his best move in a night full of good moves. Then Coney Island. One theory about the Punks could be that they weren't really going to be the highly important group that they became but the story called for it. Even if that theory is ballocks, it's great how the movie we know formed itself in a very strange way. That's part of it's magic I think.

OK I I have what looks very much like a Punk at the meeting. Not the leader lookalike that I name in another thread. This is a guy who we don't see in the bathroom fight, but he's very Punklike. He wears the denim overalls over a red shirt with a denim hat. He is not easy to see full speed. Here is where he is: You know when Cleon heads over to a fallen Cyrus and Rembrandt is sort of caught up and looks a bit nervous, well before Fox gets to him, there is a quick shot of a rush of guys going past him. This Punk is in that shot. Time Index 13:57

In the "Extra Scenes" section of the site I think that there is a deleted scene of a Riff on a phone saying that the Punks blew it.
And about the Riffs' patrols, I think that the reason they didn't find them was because they were looking around The Warriors' turf: Coney Island. That is why the Riffs were there at the end on the beach in Coney, 'cause they were there all along!

I think somehow, some way, the Riffs found out that the Punks lost the Rumble in the subway. Now it is not mentioned in the film, like there was no Riff reporting to Masai that the Punks got punked out in a subway bathroom, but the look on Masai's face at the end, on the beach, says it all. I think it did start to get a bit repetitive, and that is why it was not mentioned. "We just heard from the Turnbulls, they blew it", "the Furies dropped the ball, made an error", etc. so if the Riffs and the Rogues found out that "some two-bit outfit (the Orphans, who were not even on the map and in the network) almost got them, but they bopped their way past", then I am sure the Riffs heard about the subway rumble between the Warriors and the Punks. At the end of the movie, all that seemed trivial..as what was paramount to the Riffs, was catching the real perpetrator of the crime, the Rogues and mainly Luther, I guess when Masai was telling Swan that his Warriors were good..it was his way of saying...we're sorry for what you guys had to go through all night, just to get back home. I don't think the run in with the Lizzies was even mentioned to Masai if I am not mistaken, so that might be another one not mentioned. Peace

Alright this is pretty irrelavant but I just noticed Craig Baxley big fat watch. I think it would have been cool if one of the guys ended up wearing it for that last leg of the trip. Not in any kind of obvious shot, just barely noticeable.
