I wonder if the other 120 or so Warriors back in Coney would have been massacred by gangs out looking for The Warriors.

We still don't actually know if there were more than 9 Warriors. I always assumed that the speech that Cleon makes at the beginning was referring to the other gangs being invited. If there was more Warriors how come they weren't at Coney when the others got back. Not all gangs had tons of members. Look at the Furies they only had 8 or so guys.

That's true. Another point is that they arrive back very early in the morning when I imagine that they'd all be in bed! Maybe the Furies were on shifts or based in different parts of their patch so appeared in small groups. Cleon states that "out of a street family of 120 plus affiliates, you were chosen for this expedition and that makes you special" which indiactes that there are 120+ Warriors. Maybe The Riffs wasted them all before finding those remaining on the beach.

Masai - "My bad!".

I always wondered if when you see the old building with The Warriors in big red writing whether all the names underneath where the other members names. I can see FOX in yellow writing so I thought the film crew may have added other gang members names?

I'd never noticed that before. I can also see Saint and Smoke. They could be the names of real gang members as they did paint over an existing gang's patch.

In the production book i won on ebay it mentions that The real gang from Coney Island was The Homicides.

If you remember correctly, when the Furies come out of their HQ, there's 20+ bats outside. So it's possible that there were alot more...but they probably thought that a few of theirs would be able to take out the remaining warriors

It's odd because while Cleon states that they have been chosen out of 120+ members, throughout the film there are little clues that indicate that members of The Warriors have "worked" closely together before and are friends/buddies, like Swan/Fox, Ajax/Cochise, etc.

A few clues would be when the Warriors corner Mercy, and Vermin states he has "the big one" and the others laugh, meaning blatently they were familiar with each other's "size" as to know Vermin was telling the truth, and they laughed about it, having pulled a few "trains" on other girls in the past most likely.

Vermin again, with Cochise, when Vermin says "you came to the right guys" to the Lizzies, and Cochise's "we got to come to this part of town more often" as if they know each other.

So it may be concluded that while there may be a bunch more "lower" rank Warriors, the best of the best have definitely been together closely before.

I think it's pretty clear that Cleon meant the 8 had been chosen out of a gang of 120 Warriors. But what I'm wondering is why they never make an appearance. Even Luthor is seen checking in at home a couple of times; The Warriors never even put out a distress call. I wondered why they couldn't even alert the rest of the Warriors to expect them back in Coney in case they get followed back.

If everything made sense it would have been a short and boring film!

The Warriors only found out that they were wanted for killing Cyrus when the three of them met The Lizzies. Their priority was to tell Swan and the others, at which time they then had to fight The Punks. Then they were already at the subway station and headed home. They do seem slightly unphased though to the other Warriors but that's scripting for you. The main emphasis is on the elite group of Warriors.

I am amazed, that all the gangs heard the radio station, except those who were part of the Warriors gang. Or, how about, our friends are attending a meeting up in the Bronx, how about we leave some scouts await their return.

The Warriors was a small time gang right? none of the Riffs knew who they wear
the Orphans didn't listen to the radio station either
in the novel the radio station is used to give signals so all the gangs in the know listened
