Region 1 is a format for VHS, DVD, CD's, and some audio tapes. Region 1 or NTSC is used in the U.S., Canada, and in Japan. Region 2 is a different format, the PAL System, which is used in Europe and parts of Asia I beleive. Therefore if you are in Europe on vacation and buy a CD or DVD hoping it will play in the U.S., it won't. Unless you have a REGION-FREE DVD Player or CD Player, or you buy a REGION FREE CD or DVD. REGION FREE CD's and DVD's canbe played anywhere, on any format including NTSC and PAL. Hope this helps. Peace.fist fighter wrote:please i dont understand this..is this 2 versions or is it 2 disc's
DVD regionalization has absolutely nothing to do with television broadcast standards. Neither does it, nor has it ever had anything to do with compact discs, MC or VHS tapes.Region 1 is a format for VHS, DVD, CD's, and some audio tapes.
