remembering the first time you saw the warriors
im feeling nostalgic, how was it that you came to see the warriors, what were you thinking as soon as the movie begun and life after watching the film?
remembering the first time you saw the warriors
I remember the first time I saw it, me and my brother saw it lat at night at my grandfathers house. I remember feeling very excited and pumped up once I saw the wonder wheel, and how much I liked it once it finished. I remember how much I liked the gangs and the movie itself.
SUPER HAPPY PINEAPPLE MAN!

I heard alot about it, and the first time i watched i was a Soph in High School. Rented it on fri night, put it in at like 11:30 and did not move till it was done. From then on i was hooked.

I remember hearing it on I Love the 70's on Vh1 awhile back. It didn't really intrest me then but one day I encountered the game trailer early summer. After seeing that I asked my mom to go ahead and rent it. Next thing you know im watching it and thats how I became a fan.

remembering the first time you saw the warriors
I remember seeing it on a "I love the 70's" episode. That's when I first heard about it, the first time I actually watched it would be when I first found out Rockstar was making The Warriors game, it looked awesome, so I bought the movie and watched it, loved it.

remembering the first time you saw the warriors
I was with a friend in his dad's car, discussing with said friend a comic idea we were working on. His dad commented it sounded kinda like "The Warriors". I got curious. My friend bought it. This was last year.

* Insert awesome line from the Warriors here. *

remembering the first time you saw the warriors
this topic is just striking me as funny, esp. since we heard from Warriorchick today, I am feeling light hearted.
What was I feeling the first time I started watching the Warriors?:
I watched Swan(OMG), Ajax, Snow, and Cowboy get on that train and my jaw dropped, and I had to catch my breath, couldn't even say OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!
Thoughts?? SIGH---no comment!
remembering the first time you saw the warriors
I heard about it from my dad who found it very amusing because he lived amongst REAL street violence in a hispanic ghetto. He kept saying the "warriors, come out to plaaa-aaay" all the time for a day or two. So i rented it, watched it once, then returned it. Funny thing is, I only watched it once but while it was away it really grew on me, until after a few weeks I felt as if I'd explode if I didn't get my fix. After that I watched it every day for a week or two. Then it subsided, then I heard about the game, and it happened again.
I needs my Warriors fix. My dad is my pusher. Blockbuster is my enabler. Someone please help me.

remembering the first time you saw the warriors
i was playing gta-san andreas and my dad said to me, you know a good film for you to watch saul is the warriors, i was curious, go on i said, he explained that he watched on a double feature video with the wanderers.
not interested at first until i saw a review for the film in videohonds cult pics and trash pics. i was most interested when it mentioned the gangs it said- the gangs are comic book caricatures like the the warriors, the gramercy riffs, the baseball furies(
)and the lizzies(an all girl gang).
i bought it from st georges arcade and as soon as i saw the warriors get on the train i knew i was in for something special. it was more than special.

remembering the first time you saw the warriors
All the posts in this thread are making me feel like a real old-timer.
I remember seeing the trailer for the Warriors in the theater, but I didn't get to see it when it was released 'cause I was 8 years old at the time. But I distinctly remember being very excited by the trailer, and wanting very much to see this movie.
When I was in junior high school (roughly 1984), some friends and I rented the video and it easily lived up to my expectations. I eventually bought the VHS.
I did finally get to see it in the theater. The first time was in 1994 when it played at a theater in Chicago right after I had moved here. It was the weekend that Pulp Fiction came out; my girlfriend (at the time - she's now my wife) really wanted to see Pulp Fiction, but every theater we tried was sold out. We then found a listing for a midnight showing of the Warriors, and I insisted we go to that. She loved it too.
I bought the DVD as soon as it was released, and was blown away by how much better it looked than the well-worn VHS copy I'd had.
In the last two years, another theater in Chicago called the Music Box has shown it a few times as a midnight movie, and we go every time.

remembering the first time you saw the warriors
Another old-timer here.
Have to laugh because it was so long along that I can barely recall the first time I saw the Warriors. It was in early 80's and we had just got a VCR. At that time not many people had VCR's and we were one of the first to get one on rental. As with most new toys we used it 24/7 and was hiring everything we could get from the video shop. Porky's, the Wanderers, Endgame, the Brood, etc, etc, and then we happened to see the Warriors.
Life has never been the same since. I was mesmerised from the opening scene but the most memorable part was when I first saw the baseball furies. The image was just amazing as at that time here in the UK we didn't see any baseball just knew it as some bizzare american game.

remembering the first time you saw the warriors
The first time I believe I ever saw it was with my Dad, he had been hounding me for months about this movie called The Warriors, but I kept putting it off to watch other "better" films. But one day my dad accompanyed me to Blockbuster, to see what I was getting. Well I had my movies, but my dad saw The Warriors out of the corner of his eye. He grabbed it and gave it to me and told me to trust him, that I would love it. So we took it, came home and watched it. And I instantly loved it. It was funny, it was full of action and it had an incredible plot. I went out the next day and bought it. Good memories.
