I beleive our beloved movie was released on FEB 9, 1979, making Monday the 30th anniversary. The comic comes out on Tuesday (for those not going to NYCC). Are you doing anything to celebrate (watching the movie etc)? Post em here. Also post here for what you want to see (merchandise etc) celebrating the 30th.

good post, its amazing that Australia saw it first before USA I wonder why that was. I'll be watching it again on the 9th on Feb seeing that I've missed the 1st of Feb.

It's crazy to think that the movie will be 30 years old, I don't how many times I have seen it, must be 40 or 50 times, but I could watch it today and still enjoy, never tire of seeing it.
The one thing I would really like for the 30th anniversary would be a new DVD with the complete package, all the deleted scenes, the full intro scene etc and a commentary audio track by Walter Hill. I don't think Hill is keen on these things so it probably won't happen.
As great as the documentary was on the Ultimate Edition DVD, I was disspointed with the lack of other extra's.

I haven't got the Blu-Ray version, is there anything different on there compared to the Ultimate Edition that came out a couple of years back?

yeah I'm sure they should do a thirty year aniversary box set of it, that would deffinatley be something to buy!

Tomorrow's the big day, guys.
What should we do to commemorate the release date? At a certain time, say, 12 noon EST, no, 2 or 3pm (sure we got boppers in Hawaii, too)EST, we all recite the lines of the movie at once. For those on the opposite side of the globe, you're ahead of or behind us.... pppppppt! .... you get the idea.

Ive talked my wife into watching it tonight with me, yet again!!!! we will sit back with a few beers and bourbons and enjoy
and be amazed that 30 years have past, I couldnt even put a number on how many times Ive watch it over the past 30 years or how many times i will watch it again over the next 30 years. 8) Happy Anniversary WaRRioRs!!!!!!!

Well today is the 9th here in Australia and i wont go by the Australian release date, ill just go by the American one or w\e so Happy 30th Aniversary Warriors!!!!!

30 Years today!!
I wonder if there will be showings of the film at movie theatres anywhere, would love to see the film on the big screen.
