Did the Warriors go to a tailor to get their vests?

Post by Uriah »

I've been thinking about how specialzed all the gang colors are in the film and trying to think of a plausible way to get so many virtually identical articles of clothing - like the vests and specific patches.

I mean, its not like they could roll up to a tailor and say, "Hey, we got some new initiates, hook us up with 5 more vests." Or maybe they did have a tailor in Coney that  they "protected" and in exchange, he made them vests and patches.

At any rate, all the gangs with really stylized colors had to have someone making them.  Was it elves, a sweat shop in the back of their hangout, an embroidery club of little old ladies  - I don't know - but someone made 'em.  Any theories on this?

Probably "protecting" a local tailor...
Or Cleon asks his nan to make them for him....
Can you imagine the scene?
"I remember when you were this big!"
"Nana, the guys don't want to hear about that!"
Vermin: "Sure we do!"
Nana Cleon: "would you boys like some cookies?"
I can easily imagine them rushing forward like a bunch of kids to get their hands on Nana Cleon's cookies...  :D

I believe there was a topic like this already, in fact I even remember SHM(Mike) even saying how his gang had muisness cards made.

This is a good question thought.  I always used to think about this, because its hard to say.  They look so well made, its hard to think that one of the warriors professionally mad it .  I am just gonna simply guess that maybe they had such a bif influence on their home turf that they got some underground person who makes gang attire his or hers specialty.  Sometimes I try not to think of it, because they were mad really good.  So I am just gonna ssume they have some underground designer making these things for them.

Nana Cleon's Cookies  :D Too funny!  Someone should make a few batches for the Conlave bake sale.

Adam88, do you know if that thread still exists?  I searched and came up short - But I'm interested to see what folks had to say about this.  When you look at the colors that actual 60 & 70's gangs had, they are more home made in appearance but still pretty stylized.  The film colors semmed to just take things to the next level - sorta like everything else in the movie.

NOTE:  Nevermind.  I did a search for Business Card and found the thread, "Where did the gangs get their outfits"
