i have NEVER thought about this before... but it makes sense.. because he wouldn't really have any reason to do it... the rogues could never beat the riffs so it couldn't be because he wanted to have the biggest gang... he wasn't necessarily trying to set anyone up... so how would he benefit from shooting him? however, i don't think he was a cop.. i agree with ninth delegate on this one

If cyrus's plan had worked, it would have caused serious problems for the law, so it would have been best to nip it in the bud as soon as possible. Having luther as a patsy would make it seem like it was just another gang vs gang homicide. It may explain why there were so many cops at the ready.

of course, he might just be a crazy short guy with dirty hair *shrugs*

pretty sure that they got the gun and the badge from a cop that they killed, notice that luther has a badge on his shirt...that dosent seem very undercover like, plus you cant just shoot people if you are an undercover cop

I thought Luther wore that badge just for show. It looks to me like an old western star badge, like one you get when you buy a toy gun from a discount store.

its possible he could of been a cop but what about cropsey he surely aint a cop hes a dumbass
but maybe luther saw cyrus as a threat[of course he is] but if he was a cop he could of planned backup for the beach fight agaist the warriors and the riffs

correct, if he was a cop he cud have showed his badge to the warriors at the end or the riffs b4 they wasted them his police badge or radioed for back up no way he was a cop

No way was Luther a cop. Cops just can't shoot people because they want to. Especially with 900 witnesses. He was a psycho who just liked killing people.

It's definitely possible that Luther was an informant for the police, but it's not at all likely that he was an undercover cop. Undercover detectives are given some leeway in the crimes that they are allowed to commit in order to maintain their cover, but under no circumstances are they authorized to commit murder. If the police were, indeed, dirty enough to be behind the assassination of Cyrus, they certainly wouldn't have used one of their own officers to do it; they would have gotten some lowlife (like Luther) to do it, and then made sure that he died shortly after, to keep the ugly truth from surfacing.
