Anyone notice the extra neon lights?
Nothing here that will dramatically change your life. I dug out from storage, my old copy of the warriors on vhs. Its the one with the alternative "fugitive" music track. When the wonder wheel comes on at the begining, i noticed extra neon lights at the bottom of the screen which ive never noticed before. Its not on the dvd and i dont think its on my other vhs version. I wonder what else was cropped off in the other versions.

Yes i've noticed that on the ABC TV version. It's from another ride.
I have the alternate soundtrack version also.

Hey, thats agreat find. Any new find in the warrior universe is worth it. Yeah, its just merely another ride. Perhaps since the wonder wheel is the corner stone, and land mark for Coney Island, Walter Hill edited it out so that the great wheel can just shine in its glory to represent the home of the warriors. I suppose he just wanted that and nothing else to hypnotize the audience, so it was edited. Thats a great find.

Heres a link showing Coney Island pictures. Lets see if anyone can spot the ride out.

Yeah my copy of the BBC has that too... didn't notice it. The editors of the DVD would have just cleaned it up because it looks a little messy and is distracting - unfortunately some of us retouchers get it wrong sometimes.....good original find.

Re: Anyone notice the extra neon lights?
wow! thats a really great find Shaun...of course most of us have the DVD version so we would've never known that...I agree with Back2coney...they did a great job editing it out since it does look distracting yet creepy at the same time since the Wonder Wheel stands out in darkness...for that to just pop out along with the weird music that is used in the beginning it gives me a bit of chills for some strange reason...maybe because I'm not used to those neon lights...but I'm still curious to see that on VHS! it looks like they might of cropped that out when they did the DVD version
I would like to know what the ride is...but even if we try to find out what that ride is...its a possibility that its not even there anymore since that was about 27 years ago...and we all know that C.I. has changed a lot over the years ::)

Re: Anyone notice the extra neon lights?
I know that this post is long gone...but I had to answer...while looking through some pictures I came to one that I took from this website...if I'm not mistaken that shot was taken from the train station rather than the beach as most of us have guessed...the ride is still a mystery but it narrows it down to the entrance of Deno's park back in the day...and since C.I. has changed so much I bet its not even there anymore...

Re: Anyone notice the extra neon lights?
Wow! I totally forgot about that. I only saw it in the first video rental days. Any VHS or DVD I've owned didn't have it. So that goes back 25 years to our first vcr.
