Why didn't Cleon order some extra muscle to post up at Union Station in case something went down and they had to bop their way out of there? I know Cyrus said to bring only 9 Delegates, but that was to the "Big Meeting". Would it be construed as soldiering on Punk's turf? Even though a truce has been called? What are your thoughts?
Leads to another Q: Why were there only 9 or so Punks at the station when they tried to Jap the Warriors in the bathrooms. Once they made them wouldn't they have called in reinforcements? Turnbulls were what? 40 - 50 deep? Orphans 20-30? Then it kept dropping, Lizzies, 10-12, Furies 8-9, Punks 8-9, Rogues 8-9, sure Riffs 100+, but didn't these other gangs have alot more members? I think someone mentioned gang patrols, but still, If the Warriors are heading your way, you increase your patrol and get ready to rumble. Just seems to me that this was the only way that our Warriors were able to (believably)make it back to the Big C.I. without getting wasted.
If the Warriors were 120 + deep....
If the Warriors were 120 + deep....
How can this be a big meeting if The Orphans wasn`t there?
If the Warriors were 120 + deep....
One thing i find strange is Gramecy (Riffs Turf) is only just north of Union Square. I would have thought they would have been some riffs there.

Probably the reason The Riffs were not there is because they were to busy riding down to Coney,Waiting for The Warriors?

Well the Orphans had of idea what was going on. They weren't invited and didn't even know of the meeting. The Warriors just happened to be passing through their turf. As far as the other gangs though, thats a good question. Maybe the geands were split up in groups so they'd have a better chance of finding them, knowing that the Warriors had 9 guys at best they wouldn't (or shouldn't anyway) need the entire gang to take them.Checkmate wrote:Why didn't Cleon order some extra muscle to post up at Union Station in case something went down and they had to bop their way out of there? Yeah , I mean they had plenty of muscle on the bus, why not drop a few at the platform to wait and see who would show up.The Fox wrote: One thing i find strange is Gramecy (Riffs Turf) is only just north of Union Square. I would have thought they would have been some riffs there.

Re: If the Warriors were 120 + deep....
I talked about a topic kind of similar to this in one of my fanfics a while back. You would think that gangs would...
A. go to coney to wait for the warriors.
and
B. take out all of the warriors that are in coney at the time.
In my fanfic, the brooklyn gangs went to coney and wiped out most of the warriors there but the warriors at the hangout took most of them out from the windows and rooftop.
I should write more fanfics. Those things are fun.

Well I have beensaying for ages that I don't think the subway was the Punks' turf, it would explain a lot. After all, how many gangs don't travel using the subway each night? The Punks would have been so tired out from fighting every night, plus, a subway is a very public place, any cop could just wander through, and then lastly, if it indeed was their turf why no more backup?
if we say that the surrounding union square was their turf, then I'd say that they didn't call in backup because they figured they could take The Warriors on their own, thinking "come on guys, we can handle them!"

Re: If the Warriors were 120 + deep....
Well Cleon trusted Cyrus, I think he honestly belived that everyone would honor the rules that Cyrus had laid down. Putting soilders at union square would show that Cleon didn't trust Cyrus and it would show disrespect towards The Riffs. sometimes, being safe isn't the best thing to do. Not to mention, about half the gangs in Brooklyn had to switch trains at Union Square, how would you feel if you gang is trying to get through, and its crowded with Warriors? And I don't think it would be considered soildering on another gangs turf, with the ruce on, in the original script The Warriors go through Mongrel turf, and they do nothing but give dirty looks at each other.
And as or The Punks and other gangs only having 8-9 members at a time, the whole gang probably split up to look for them quicker. That was probably only one patrol. Noone knew who The Warriors were or where they were from, so noone knew they were headed through Union Station.

We're gonna make it back. We came this far and we're gonna make it the rest of the way!
Re: If the Warriors were 120 + deep....
Well the main thing was "trust". Cleon knew that this was a journey unlike any other. In order for there to be order, they must obey by the rules. For all we know, maybe the Riffs not only had patrols at the conclave, but near the neighborhood as well, to check for any suspicion. It would have been a good idea, but lets just say everything went alright, the warriors could be blames for sabatoging the conclave, and they would now be blamed for braking the rules if they were caught with extra members. As for the punks gathering other members, well who knows, for all we know, being that it was late at night it may have been hard to meet up with other gang members, or its possible that perhaps the punks did get into some sort of contact with the other members, but were anxious to capture the warriors. So rather than meet up with them, they probably split up into groups, and it was just mere coincidence that the main group found the warriors. And off the record, I never really believed that the train station was the punks hide out. I mean where would they stay, in the bathromms, and benches all day. It was just bad luck that the punks happened to be looking there as well. All in all, my point is, that destiny is inevitable, no matter what other alternatives the warriors took, or alternate routes, the same fate would have happened regardless.
