The Warriors...14th most controversial film ever.

Post by KillerMime »

According to Entertainment Weekly, that is.  They just put out a new list.  Hard to believe the warriors is still considered controversial.  I could easily think of a few more films that belong on this list.  And We just got edged out by that damn Da Vinci Code.

It must mean in a historical way I guess as it's not controversial at all now.

IMO buddy it's a good thing! I have seen both of those movies and they're awesome. Isn't it ironic that some awesome movies are controversial? Well I must say that, that list is IDK...because I'm getting the urge to watch those films...hm, Freaks, interesting...

I personally can't believe "The Exorcist" wasn't in that list.

There will always be people who think movies such as The Warriors are controversial. It is due to the gang stories and themes aswell as in a way makin gang members look like "good guys" lol Well what can you do? There will always be critics to hate on great movies like The Warriors. I think that if someone goes and stabs another person because of this movie...welll they were capable of doing it with any other movie, dig? ;)

Yea Kage that's true. Peoples' actions can be influenced by anything, it just depends on how you percieve things, I guess. I don't think the Warriors was controversial at all, there wasn't any extreme violence in the movie at all, I think it was just a convienient scapegoat for the media and politicians at the time to point a finger at, becuase of the actions of a few idiots   I wonder if all the outrage would've still been there if it had been classified as just an action movie  instead of a gang movie?

Yea I kno Kujo it is true. People always try to find a way to blame violence on movies and games.....But here is something that will shut them up so bad :D :
Before there were t.v.'s and video games etc., There were ALWAYS gangs, violence, murders, rapes, Crooked Politics etc. Seriously dont try to point the finger at mans own fault. Movies are just showin a reflection of the world. The Warriors for example, Shows the struggle and courage the most unexpected people show at times of danger. Though it is indeed about gangs it bares a message to be courageous and fight for survival in this cold world. The Warriors barely showed any gore either. Did u ever see someone get it square in the face with a baseball bat with teeth splattering everywhere?  ;) Though Cyrus is shown getting shot from what i can remember that is the only scene of blood splattering out. I think the Warriors being a controversial movie is a bucnh of hogwash.
