Why didn't Swan pick up the gun?
i think, even though they were outnumbered, the warriors knew they could take the rogues and luther already had a knife wedged in his arm so he probably couldnt do anything at all

It was still a good idea that Swan didn't pick up the gun, seeing Luther with the gun only confirmed the witnesses' accusation for the RIFFS, if they saw Swan with the gun they may have changed their minds and decided that the Warriors really did shoot Cyrus.

Why didn't Swan pick up the gun?
swan throw the knife inch perfect class act!
warriors rules, basebal furiers rock too, but warriors domination is on and always will be on!
Re: Why didn't Swan pick up the gun?
I'm shocked. I never thought about that either. This whole time, 25 years, and I never thought about the gun after it was fired. Why didn't anybody go for it? Unless, there was only 1 bullet at the time and the Rogues knew it. And, not to mention, wouldn't you at least try to pick it up when the Riffs were coming you're way? Man this is rare! A Warriors enigma that's been staring at me forever.soldierheavymuscle wrote:wow!!KillerMime wrote:I always wondered why Swan, knowing he and the Warriors were outnumbered by the Rogues, didn't grab the gun off the sand after he wiped the knife on Luther's hair.
that's a really good question!!
i never thought of that!!
yeah, he coulda put a slug, or two in luthers head!
and it wouldn't have botherd me, in the least!!! LOL

Why didn't Swan pick up the gun?
I always saw the confrontation of the 2 leaders as a separate go around that pitted just them and not their soldiers together. Like when in a tribe someone challenges the dominate male for control a bunch of others don't jump in to help out of respect for the fight itself. Old boss is dead. Long live the new boss kinda thing.

not to mention Swan picking up the gun would have put his finger prints on it as well and if some how the cops were to get a hold of it he would have been hauled in. maybe even in the same holding cell as Ajax who knows what kind of friction that could have caused

Swan didn't pick up the gun because guns are for wuss' and wimps.

Re: Why didn't Swan pick up the gun?
dude!! swan does not need the gun!!
Re: Why didn't Swan pick up the gun?
Luther-Ok ok I heard the rumors! I WAS NOT CRYING!!!Coney Island Baby wrote: Well Luther was too busy holding his arm in pain and whimpering to pick the gun up right away and shoot at him again. And by the time Swan had wiped the blood off his blade, the Riffs had shown up and stolen everyone's attention. Had the Riffs not shown up right then though, I'm sure Swan would've taken the gun away from Luther so he couldn't use it again.
It would of been a good idea from the Rogue's point of view to quickly pick up the gun for protection while the Riffs were marching towards them, but even if they had they were going to die anyway because there were far more Riffs and Warriors than there were bullets in that gun.
Another reason Swan didn't pick up the gun was probably because from a filmmaking point of view there'd be no reason to make Swan pick up the gun if he wasn't actually gonna use it. It would just waste time.

well actually wen u look at it look at wat they had 2 go through all night so fightin the rogues gang wouldnt of been much. And also they could of ran for help or something. The leader was also taken out so it wouldnt of been as hard to batter them.

Very true Emmisary and never thought of that. The Warriors probaly knew that it was over and that Luther probaly wasen't going to do anything.

Re: Why didn't Swan pick up the gun?
This question seems like it will always be a mystery or for that matter, why didn't anyone rogue or warrior go for the gun after luther dropped it?

Re: Why didn't Swan pick up the gun?
Taking the risk of making an impertinent statement, going back some, somebody said about the Rogues out-numbering the Warriors on the beach. They still would have taken the Rogues out anyway.
Harley hit the nail right on the head. Swan's picking up the gun would have been a huge no-no. The number one cardinal sin here. Even when the Riffs were approaching the two gangs, knowing they were after the Rogues, I'm sure they probably weren't solidly fixed on the fact that the Rogues did it, thereby being more easily swayed toward assuming the Warriors did it if they saw the gun in Swan's hand. Masai seemed like the "I'll believe it when I see it"-type.
Swan was wise to let it go. Even if one of the Rogues lunged for the heat, Swan probably would have been using his peripheral vision to keep it in sight while looking at the Rogues. Swan, then, would have jumped on him before he could touch the gun and the other Warriors would have piled up on the other Rogues. Just something I envisioned.... but, to the viewer, there wouldn't've been much anticipation of the Riffs doing serious damage to the Rogues, because the Warriors already did a lot of damage. Only thing left for the Riffs to do is kill them. Less drama here.
