Hey, if we cannot stop them at least they should hear our demands. I would not mind getting Ajax and Cleon back. They can make believe that the first served time and is back in the pack. The latter, let's just say that the Riffs held him for a while and after all things were cleared up, he was released. The only difference, and perhaps the biggest one should be that Swan is the War Chief and Ajax is still questioning his leadership.

Or better yet, why don't those fuckers at Paramount let us fans write the scrypt?

i'm afraid our only hope is that someone connected with this remake will read the posts in this forum, and will let our words guide the way. after all, i believe the members here are the real experts on the warriors!

What "The Warriors" really deserves is a two-DVD set, which is becoming more and more popular these days. One for the film and the extras on the other. With so many films getting the "Special Edition" treatment, including many films that do not have the legend and the cult status of The Warriors, it just seems like a big waste not to have a SE of this film.

And the amazing thing is, this movie can probably get away with having the most commentary tracks ever for a DVD release, because in addition to the non-actors who actually contributed in making the film, you can have at least 5 Warriors and some other key characters such as Luthor and Mercy. You can have 15 commentary tracks and none of them would be "filler." Seriously it's a freaking crime for Paramount not to be on this (maybe they are?) as I believe it'd be pretty huge and this film just screams for this kind of treatment.

I am with you on the commentaries, especially one with Walter Hill. I said it before but what I would really like is if Paramount let Criterion get their hands on The Warriors. Their recent releases are almost always 2 discs and loaded with tons of extras (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Slacker, etc..).

Criterion would be a great release but the negative is the cost. I always thought Criterion was pretty expensive, for instance there's a few movies they have out I'd love to buy (especially The Blob and Devil and Daniel Webster) but I haven't yet because I just can't pay close to 40 bucks each for them, financially and out of principle. Of course I'd shell that out for The Warriors that being my fave film, but I think if they took it they would not get many casual movie fans buying it because of their typical prices. Especially since the regular Paramount DVD is down to 9.99 right now all over the place.

But yeah for us diehard Warriors fans, a Criterion release would be heaven lol.

Steve, you said it. A Criterion release would be for the hard core fan and the casual fan can have the regular Paramount release. They release a lot of obscure and foreign films so I am sure they do not aim for the casual fan in the first place. Price would be high to be sure but I'm sure the Rocksatr game will carry a similar price tag.

The videogame is actually the thing that's gonna make me scrape up the cash for a PS2 LOL. I love videogames (old school) and as cool as today's games seem and are, they are SO involved the time factor (and money factor) kept me away. But I will have to invest some time and probably some good all night sessions for the Warriors game! I wonder if the cast will be in it at all, seeing how so many people lend their vocals to videogames now.

As a diehard fan I'd love a Criterion release but yeah that probably won't happen. But I do agree with the fellow fan above who says money is the key and with so many films getting multiple DVD release treatment (as fans of the EVIL DEAD movies know!) , can The Warriors be far behind?

I'd hate it if Criterion got their grubby paws on the Warriors. They always stuff the discs with small useless "extras" of no value, and ask you to pay five times the price of a normal SE DVD. Fortunately it won't happen, Paramount won't let go of something as hot as the Warriors. :)
