But on the other hand the Baseball Furies and The Punks weren't in the original book either, so are they non-essential? I don't think so. The point of Mercy is to add another factor to complicate The Warriors getting home. The more complicated the journey, the more drama, and theoretically a better movie. Plus it sets up for the scenes of social observation like (Prom couple vs. Swan and Mercy and "Maybe I'll just take off").

Agreed. Also a large part of it is just what film makers would call 'basic script rules', meaning most films have a strong female character. I guess it's just film making convention.

I disliked mercy because swan obviously liked her and she looked like a "whore"(said by the fox) and that reflected porly on swan. cyrus, common, he was more pointless than admiral akbar in starwars.

I don't mind Cyrus that much but Mercy's complainig is iritating after a while, but i thik they are both essential to the movie. The added drama with Swann and Marcy is a good twist to the movie.

I know Mercy.  I dug this up as a laugh for people.  I can't believe it's continued.

Cyrus was the best and he was the charcter that the whole story's plot wrapped around of and i'm glad Mercy was in there because with out her the whole movie would be nine guys running around not wearing shirts and the only chick part would be the Lizzes so good for them for keeping Mercy

I liked Cyrus.  He wanted to unite the gangs & eliminate the petty quarreling amongst them.  Guys with no vision like Luther & Ajax couldn't grasp his idea.

Cyrus's speech was awesome! I don't think anyone likes Mercy (don't take it personaly) but I don't think your really sopossed to like her all that much. She made the fight bettween the Warriors and the Orphans. Your not reallly sopossed to like her to the middle of the movie.(sorry I cant spell worth a crap.Kinda failed that,)

Dislike Cyrus?

Who are you?

The guy was beautiful.
Cleon dying was a huge blow.  Swan was able to pick up the slack and lead a very tough gang home through hell.
