well.........that sounds like a so-called 'chick flick' ending, not that there's anything wrong with 'chick flicks'. IMHO it doesn't really fit the 'tough guy' feel of the movie. besides, the character was on screen for about a minute. no character development for the audience to feel one way or another about him. by the time the movie ends, i don't think anyone watching the movie misses him.Anonymous wrote:It would have been nice to see, as the Warriors are walking down the beach and In the City is playing to have a shot of Cleon fade in at the top left corner.
Maybe a daytime shot of him smiling wearing his tradmarked bandana then slowley fading out. Kind of a tribute to their fallen leader. Though he had to be tough to lead them they also would of had memories of a more relaxed happier Cleon when they were just hanging out in Coney and not going into such a tense situation like the night before.[/b]

I always taught there should be some reference to Cleon, Ajax and Fox at the end. Perhaps Rembrandt spraying their names onto something at the beach. But I, like everyone else on this site, always watch the credits roll to the very end.

I love watching this film until the very end of the credits, but what also would've been cool would be a curtain call ending. You know, each cast member gets one last close up shot of them with their credit, but the way it ends is cool, and "In The City" has been a favorite of mine since I first heard it in this film.
Of course, as many do wonder, I would really be intrigued to know what happens to each of the characters after the film. Swan and Mercy probably take off looking for a new, more satisfying life. But then there's questions like how much time does Ajax do in jail? Sure, he was arrested for sexual assault in the park, but lord knows what other crimes they might be able to pin him on. Who would become the new leader of the gang with Cleon dead and Swan departing? We only saw a small contingent of the whole gang in the film, and so, there's a lot more Warriors out there at the big C.I. Lots of questions, but no, I wouldn't want a sequel. I guess it'll always be fan speculation, and I suppose I can live with that.
Sorry for going off-topic, but it does concern the ending of the film. We leave the Warriors as somewhat changed individuals, and seeing them walk off into a new day is very symbolic and certainly makes you wonder about their lives from then on.

*applause for Nick's speech*
All I know is if I ever ever ever make a movie I want the credits like that, Ill chose a different song of course, totally depending on what the film is about and perhaps where they are, but I want my main character walking off into the distance at sunrise with class music playing... Yep.
I dont think you can beat the beach though, maybe, wherever my film is set, Ill just randomly have them walk on the beach and Warriors fans will know....

Re: The Credits
The song is great indeed...I also watch the full credits of Ferris Bueller...because of the small movie of the principal. It's hard to make good credits. In the Warriors it is done very well.
I can't make it!
You sure?
Yeah, I'm sure.
Good... I'm sick of running from these wimps.
