I have 3 versions of the 1979 film.
The original version that came out on video in the early 80's. (I presume this was the same as the cinema version)
Another version which I bought on original video in the late 80's which has different music, 'No where to run' is replaced by another song? Not sure if any other music or editing is different I would have to check, its been a while since I watched it. Anybody cop this version when it came out?
And the TV version, with the extra footage at the start. Whats the deal with this version, why extra footage? Was this version shown on US and UK tv?
Are there any other versions?
How many versions are there of the orignal film? (I got 3)

I got the same 3. I prefer the music that replaces nowhere to run, (I'm a fugitive, i'm on the move). I only got the deleted scenes one on vhs recorded off tv.

Ah yeah, thats the track, 'Fugitive', I remember now. Wonder why they brought a version out with this song in, maybe there was some copyright issue? Seems strange to me that you would replace a song from the original film?
You taped the TV version in the UK then, it was a shock to me when I taped it, I only taped it becuase I knew they sometimes showed them films on BBC2 in widescreen (they did it with scarface a few weeks before) and they usually had an intro by Alex Cox or that Mark Kemarr (or whatever his name is) which gives info on the film, which they did and it was good.
Then Im expecting to see the Wonderwheel, and this whole new scene came on, Im like wow whats this!! I expect this will be on this new DVD version though.

So is the UK the only place this TV version with the extra scenes at the beginning has been shown?
I know the film has been shown on UK TV many times, but only once in this format.

On WTBS about 7 or 8 years ago they had the extra scenes at the start of the movie.I have watched it on there once or twice since then and they just have the regular movie.I wished I had taped that show!
make your move.

There also is a LaserDisc release, which is 94 minutes long. I've never watched the LD, I've only heard about it.

Funny you mention the 94 minutes, I dug out my old 1980's recording of 'The Warriors' last night, and on the side of the tape it had 'The Warriors - 1hr 34mins'. Thing is I checked it and it had none of the deleted scenes, so I must have copied that out of one of my video magazines.
The 94 minutes must be the length of the theatre and original VHS release?
