The Warrior's NYC Subway Ride July 4th 2013

I have recently discovered the warriors, and this discovery has lead to a little bit of an obsession. Because I am a lover of all things "Old New York", a resident of Manhattan's Lower East Side, and in light of the recent tragedy of Hurricane Sandy on Coney Island, I started to think about getting involved in a Warriors subway ride on July 4th 2013. This is a new Idea, but I wanted to see if anyone else would be interested in getting involved in it's conception. The idea right now is to meet in Van Cortlandt Park in costume, ride to Coney Island (with a few check points in between) and finish with a party on the boardwalk (after the Nathan's Hot Dog contest of course). I would love to meet with some other fans that Live in New York City, but anyone traveling to the city that week would also be welcome to join. It sounds like this has not been done in the past, but I think it makes a lot of sense, and i need an excuse to wear my Worrior's vest.


Some points to consider
1. I work in the liquor industry, and know a lot of bar owners in New York - If we made it a pub crawl, the bars might be willing to promote the ride?
2. I love scavenger hunts, so maybe making 5 clues to solve and we could make the event a race from VCP to Coney Island? Could all be organized via Facebook.
3. It could also be fun to have a little improve everywhere and ride a subway car all together (I have my ghetto blaster that I could play some appropriate late 70's music.....
4. Should we get organized groups of 9? would force people to consider the Rouges, Hi Hats, Furries, Lizzies,Turnbull AC's etc. so we have some variety of people dressing up
5. What time do we start - I think it would be safer to do during the day, and think we would get a larger participation, but could be very cool to also do at night.....
6. Anything other comments, questions, concerns would help
