The Real Warriors

Anyone else notice this? Was it reported anywhere else? Forty years ago, The Reapers were known as a blessing and a curse - similar to the street gangs that populated the fictional world of the popular film The Warriors. LIFE photographer John Shearer embedded himself within the South Bronx gang and...

Re:

Couple more. Vermin actually says it at the Lizzies place just after Cochise says they should visit that part of town more often. And of course the Riffs say it at the end on the beach.

Unless my maths is kidding me I get seven occurrences throughout the film. Anyone else get any I missed?

Re:

Mmm, my memory was playing tricks on me. It wasn't Vermin in the alley saying it, it was Cochise at Union Sq station when Cowboy and Snow joined them. I also thought there was an extended scene between Swan and Mercy when they were walking between stations and he says yeah right, but it's not on my ...

Re: Re:

Scavenger Hunt! List the number of times this phrase is uttered in the movie! Bonus Points : Also list by whom, in order of occurence! I can think of three straight off the top of my head: Ajax when they're coming out of the train station and meet the Furies. Swan says We'd better take off and Ajax...

Re: Mr Stillwell

Thanks 4nik8. Unsure of the pronunciation. I'm guessing the 'I' would be pronounced as a 'Y' but I'm willing to be corrected. So we're probably looking at ayas : a as in Day, then yas- but if anyone else knows differently. ...

Re:

I thought 'yeah right' was just a Walter Hill thing; something he liked toying with considering the amount of people who say it in the film.

Re: Mr Stillwell

Thanks for the kind words. There might be some other bits and pieces on other back up CDs but I'd have to find them first. As I said in the post I'm positive there is a prose version of this somewhere, but if I can't find it maybe I can rewrite it and post it here.

Re: How Did You Find This Site?

I found it via google search. I think it was around the time the director's cut DVD came out: I already have The Warriors on DVD but was looking to get the Directors Cut for completion. Then you'll need the Blu-ray for absolute quality, and then use that to watch it in 3D ......... awesome. Still s...

Re: How Did You Find This Site?

I agree, it was hardly worth it. I was quite disappointed with the director's cut, there really wasn't anything new in the film and some scenes were actually trimmed.

Re: favorite warrior/warriors?

I can never decide between Swan and Ajax. They are totally opposite characters but I think it's their portrayal in the film by the actors makes me like them.

Mr Stillwell

I was going through old back up CDs and found the following. It was written about eleven years ago ( :o ) and I thought it would be nice to share it. I went through it last night and found that I made surprisingly few changes. Also, I am sure I had a prose version of this but it doesn't appear to be...

Re: Thoughts on Remake?

Remakes are a bit iffy nowadays: a lot of the time they just defile the original (Starsky and Hutch anyone?). I think setting it in modern times will bring its own problems too. They had handguns and knives in the original but we'd probably be looking at Uzis and rocket launchers for the gang to avo...
