Re: The Lizzies

I thought Clique could be used to describe a gang subunit like "platoon" or "squad" in the army. while I'm not sure if they had boyfriends, I would think they at least had an association with a male gang, alot like how certain sororities are always associated with certain fraternities. Also, I don't...

If you think about it being quiet explains his street name. He's cool and collected but still a weapon.

Re: the rogue-mobile

It could have been a rogue who got called that a lot and wanted to shove it back in peoples faces. I guess the question then becomes why did the gang as a whole let him do that. I mean it's right there in red.

Re: Somewhere in New York City...

It's possible that only the best get the actual colors, so they don't always have to have enough for the whole gang. But, it's also really likley that someone in the gang knows a guy who knows a guy. I find this is the case with a lot of social organizations, criminal or not.

Re: Warriors Base position.

The roller coaster you see in the background of those shots isn't The Cyclone, its The Thunderbold. The Thunderbold was located west of the go-kart tracks (seen in the left side of the sattelite photo you posted). Here's a picture of The Thunderbolt when it was standing (not he afore mentioned go-ka...

It's a tie between "They write about our raids in the paper." and "Can you count!".

Re: Would the Furies ever be the same?

What we need to ask ourselves here it who were the Furies that fought in that scene. If The Furies best went up to The Conclave then they could be in Jail or stuck somewhere in The Bronx when that fight went down. Not to diminish the acheivment of The Warriors, but it's possible the Furies we see ar...

Re: time for the riffs.

This is a good question. The Riffs could have been around since the 1950's having formed for the same reasons some of the early motorcycle gangs did. They could have formed in the 1960's amid the social turmoil. They could even have roots tracing back to some Five-Points/Draft Riot era gang of the m...

Re: Mercy versus Lincoln

If Lincoln cought Mercy alone, Lincoln would take her. It doesn't seem like Mercy's that much of a fighter. She didn't try anysort of countermove when Ajax grabbed her, and it's been said already that she didn't do all much in the bathroom fight. I would think that because Lincoln is Cleon's girlfri...

Re: "Make yer move!"

Ajax is stronger but he seems like the kind that would get blinded by his own anger and rage. Swan has a cooler head and the smarter fighter, which is why I think he would win.

Re: lonely looooooooooooooosers.

I'm not sure how attached The Orphans really were to Mercy. They seemed annoyed at her for interfering with the parley. Plus, while Mercy might have the gumption Sully at least has sense. He new from Fox mentioning The Conclave that even though The Orphans had numbers The Warriors were probably bett...

Re: When you watch The Warriors...

I like both eqully, but if I'm going to show one to someone who has never seen it or hasn't seen it in years I show the original because I feel like the power of the Furies entrance is lost in the comic book scene transitions of the new edition. Of course, I would then show the documentaries in the ...

Re: Easy for the police?

I totaly buy into the "war-paint" theory. Also, I think the world the story takes place in is one where cops are stretched too thin/mostly dirty/too apathetic to maintian law and order and as a result you have brazenly visible street gangs.

Re: Who are the Warriors?

I agree, The Riffs knew of The Warriors, but they didn't know much beyond their turff and the name of their leader. Masai's line is derogatory and helps to tell us how outnumbered The Warriors are by letting us know that they are relatively small (compared to other in The Riffs' network).
