Re: Why do UK People Love The Warriors So Much?
That was a good response. I am from Sandusky, Ohio. It is about halfway between Toledo and Cleveland, about an hour north of Mansfield. I worked in theatres in the Sandusky area for 25 years. The State Theatre, The Ohio (gone), Stearns Cinema World 1-2-3-4, (gone), The Sandusky Mall Cinema 1-2-3 (go...

Re: Why do UK People Love The Warriors So Much?
Well, we don't have to confine it to UK people. I am just as interested in the worldwide following! As to Sicily & Palermo, I am not familiar by having been there, but I have read a large amount of fiction & non-fiction about Sicily and Italy. So I can pretty well understand the whole, how shall I s...

Re: worst gang
> Mercy was dead weight. < I have to disagree with that. Mercy was needed to humanize Swan. She brought out his personality during the night, and ultimately, when they arrive at Stillwell Avenue, and he looks out over the houses and the city, I think he is seeing the futility of it all. ("This is wh...

Why do UK People Love The Warriors So Much?
I am from Ohio in the USA. I am very curious as to why there is such a large UK following for the Warriors? It's a great movie, and I think it makes a good time-capsule of late 70's deep-urban culture. (Although like most movies, the portrayal is a bit two-dimensional, and over-stated). But, it seem...

Re: ur favorite warrior???
Hard to say for favorite. I like Swan because he is a good leader. Ajax kicks butt, however, he can't keep his act together and stay focused. I think the Fox character is a good one, but Tom Waites essentially ruined it by bailing on the movie. I think Cowboy is under-rated. Rembrandt is pretty good...

>Eagles - "In the city"<
Well, technically only one Eagle, Joe Walsh.
But that is one fantastic song.
I love the ending, with the Warriors walking out over the sands. It may be my favorite non-vocal part.

Re: New Blood on the Mean Streets
Thanks for the compliment! It is the only picture of the old Ohio Theatre that I have. The movies listed had all the right letters to allow me to Photoshop it into "The Warriors". Can you dig it?

Re: New Blood on the Mean Streets
He probably saw some of it. We had it for 2 weeks. I was upstairs in the projection booth, but I didn't see any trouble. There was a lot of stuff in the papers about how the movie was going to promote gang violence and wars. Seems kind of silly now! It was just a movie. (Well, a REALLY GREAT movie)

Re: CYRUS DREAM
In my view, Cyrus' dream was a throw-away plot point. You needed to get all the gangs in one place, have an incident, and set them all like baying hounds across the breadth of the city after the Warriors. (FYI - It's 27 miles from the Bronx to Coney!) Anyway - If you recall, there were dozens of cop...

I'm partial to "Echoes in My Mind". I like the whole creature of the night thing. I am also very fond of "Last of an Ancient Breed"

New Blood on the Mean Streets
Hey Boppers! New to the Forum, but not the Warriors! I ran the movie when it was released, at the Ohio Theatre in Sandusky, Ohio USA. I remember there were a lot of rumbles around the country when the movie was released. We actually had a cop in the lobby, but there was never any trouble. Looking fo...
